It's as much a puzzle game as it is an action title, as you explore each environment figuring out where you can go, what you can do, what accidents you can cause, and where you can hide the bodies. Hitman: Absolution continues this tradition. But the metagame has always been about a perfect hit, ideally achieved without firing a single shot. Sure, every Hitman title has allowed for emergent gameplay possibilities and a free hand in how you handle your contracts. The Hitman series has always been less about wanton violence than one would think, given the whole "predicated on murder-for-hire" thing. Much like most developers/pulishers Enix has catered for the casual, pick up and drop gamer that makes the COD franchise so much money. that can see through every disguise you where making that oh so important and iconic element of the Hitman series redundant. Gone is the patients of a proper Hitman, now it's all about explosions and Stephen Hawking-esque A.I. Remember when you would spend considerable time murdering various people for their outfit which would lead to different ways to kill your victim? Gone. Remember in BM when you would stalk your target and spend considerable time running through different scenarios on how to kill your victim? Gone. Anyone who played Blood Money like me should remember a golden age of thinking stealth games, BM, MGS 3, Chaos Theory, these types of games are mostly dead. In is guns blazing, quick time events and stupidity.
